I certainly hope this attracted your attention.
| Photograph Location | Longboat Key FL Beach about mid-key; South of Tampa about 50 miles. Looking into the Gulf of Mexico |
| Time of day | Sunset |
| Subject | Turtles vs. Mankind |
| Turtle nest on the beach, with debris left by mankind. The turtles build nests on the beach near the water. To protect the turtle nests, yellow stakes and yellow ribbons are placed around the nest area. The nest in the photograph can be seen by those stakes and ribbon. Usually there will be a sign explaining the area, attached to one of the stakes. | |
| Look at what we build - look at what the turtle (loggerhead) builds. | |
I am not an environmental activist - I do believe our actions should be environmentally responsible. Look, Listen and become aware of the deaths of those living around you - Turtles, Frogs, Manatees, Dolphins, etc. Take a focus on the fact these neighbors are being killed by contamination - your trash and my trash. If it affects your neighbor - it will eventually affect you. Waiting too long can make the corrections required more severe and painful than if the remedial measures are taken earlier.
I will be adding some poetry links to this page, some photographs and other enjoyable work. Please check back.
